湖のパビリオン
メキシコで開催された国際コンペMextrópoli 2022の応募案。 “アテスカトル”とは、メキシコ先住民の一つであるナワトルの言葉で「水たまり」「小さな湖」「水鏡」を意味する。湖をイメージしたこのパビリオンは、都市を楽しむ空間を創造するという発想から生まれた。メキシコシティの中心にあるラ・アラメダ・セントラル公園の一角にある、いくつもの噴水空間。公園のランドマークとなっている2つの噴水を結ぶ場所に湖のパビリオンを計画する。私たちが子供の頃、雨上がりに水たまりを跳ね、水遊びを楽しんだ記憶。パビリオンはそれらを想起させる空間であり、各所に計画された窓や鏡が様々な視覚効果を生み出し、外部と内部の人々の繋がりを作りだす。公園の豊かな自然の中で生み出される光、風、水の波紋。利用者は時間によって変化する魅力を発見しながら、飛び石を飛び越え、その中で遊び、憩いの時間を過ごす。またこのパビリオンは、子供時代のノスタルジアであると同時に、かつてこの街が巨大な湖（テスココ湖）の中にある水上都市であったというメキシコシティの歴史性を呼び起こす装置でもある。

ATEZCATL / PUDDLE
ATEZCATL es una palabra náhuatl que significa “charco”, “pequeño lago” o “espejo de agua” y es la palabra perfecta para contar la historia de este pabellón. Aztecatl surge de la idea de crear un espacio efímero para el disfrute de la monotonía citadina. Se crea un espacio transitorio en uno de los andadores de La Alameda Central, el cual conecta dos de las muchas fuentes de dicho parque. De entre todas, aquellas dos fuentes se han convertido en un punto de reunión, un hito y un espacio de esparcimiento tanto para niños,como para jóvenes y adultos que aprovechan el agua para jugar. Aztecatl es un espacio que conecta ambas fuentes de una forma misteriosa, divertida y nostálgica. ¿Quién cuando niño (o no tan niño) no saltó por los charcos de las calles después de un día de lluvia? Por ello, este pabellón busca que las personas puedan jugar en él, brincando por las bases sólidas, descubriendo los misterios/encantos que esta pequeña transición esconde, el juego de ventanas, espejos y cortinas generan una serie de efectos visuales, conexiones con el exterior y (conexiones) con los usuarios al interior. Aztecatl además de ser una vía a la nostalgia de la niñez, también nos da una nostalgia histórica. Se toma el concepto de la ciudad lago, recordando a nuestro antiguo lago de Texcoco, y así Aztecatl se vuelve en un lago transitable, dentro del antiguo lago.
Atezcatl is a Nahuatl word that means "puddle", "small lake" or "mirror of water" and is the perfect word to tell the story of this pavilion. Atezcatl arises from the idea of creating an ephemeral space for the enjoyment of the monotony of the city. A transitory space is created in one of the walkways of La Alameda Central, which connects two of the many fountains in the park. Of all of them, those two fountains have become a meeting point, a landmark, and a recreational space for children, youth, and adults who take advantage of the water to play. Atezcatl is a space that connects both fountains in a mysterious, fun, and nostalgic way. Who as a child, or not so child, did not jump through the puddles in the streets after a rainy day? Therefore, this pavilion seeks that people can play in it, jumping through the solid bases, discovering the charms that this small transition hides, such as playful windows, the visual effects the mirrors and curtains generate & the connection between the outside and the users inside. Atezcatl, besides being a way to the nostalgia of childhood, also gives us historical nostalgia. It takes the concept of the lake city, recalling our ancient lake of Texcoco, and so Atezcatl becomes a walkable lake, inside the former lake.
